Today we celebrate World Mission Sunday. It is 100yrs today !
By our Baptism we have become living members of the Church: together we have received the mission to bring the Gospel to everyone. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, Jesus sends us to share his Gospel with those who have never encountered it. As a world on this Mission Sunday our prayers and donations support the Church in countries that need our help to reach out to those living in poverty and who need our care.
Missio is the Church’s official organ for the support for foreign missions, the second collection that is taken this weekend (17/18th October) goes in its entirely to support churches, hospitals, schools and vocations in countries where the Church is new, young or poor. Missio works through local bishops, churches and missionary congregations to ensure that resources are distributed equitably and justify on the basis of need. There are special envelopes at the back of the Church for your donations. You can also donate through the church card machines at the back. Thank you for your generosity
