WORLD DAY OF PRAYER FOR MIGRANTS & REUGEES: On Sunday 27 September, the Church marks the 112th World Day of Migrants and Refugees. This year’s theme, ‘Even just one of these children’, comes from Pope Leo XIV’s message and invites us to reflect on the dignity, needs, and hopes of migrant and refugee children and young people. For many children, home is not a place of safety. Conflict, persecution, poverty, and climate change can force families to leave behind everything they know. As Christians, we are reminded that Jesus himself knew what it meant to be a refugee. In the Gospel of Matthew, Joseph is warned to take Mary and the child Jesus and flee to Egypt because Herod seeks the child’s life. As we mark Refugee Sunday, may our parishes continue to grow as communities of welcome and belonging, where every person is treated with dignity and every child is given the opportunity to live in safety, surrounded by love and hope.
CAFOD FAMILY FAST DAY: is on Friday 2nd October 2026. It is a day when we are invited to pray, eat simply and give generously. By giving to CAFOD this Harvest, we can put our faith into action and share God’s love with our neighbours overseas-we can help communities support children to stay in school with better access to water, nourishing meals and gardens where food can be grown. Please collect a CAFOD Envelope as you leave today, your donations can be Gift aided as well. There will be a second collection next weekend for CAFOD.
FUNDRAISING FOR CHURCH MAINTENACE- A parishioner who is downsizing is organizing a sale with household goods, Ladies Shoes(new), Clothes(new), stationary, luggage, hand bags, costume jewelry and other miscellaneous items this weekend 26/27th September after both Sunday Masses and the Saturday Vigil Mass. There will be Irish Coffee and cakes for sale on Sunday after Masses All proceeds go towards the Church Maintenance. Please do come to the hall and see what may interest you.
