As a part of our 125th anniversary of English Martyrs Church to nurture the spiritual life of the parish we are planning to visit Tyburn Convent on the 6th April 2019. The convent is close to the site of Tyburn tree where many martyrs were put to death amongst them Saints Thomas Moore and John Fisher. The convent has a museum with artefacts from the English Martyrs. One of the nuns will give a talk . That will help you gain a deeper understanding of the English Martyrs and the links to the parish. The visit will begin with Mass celebrated by Fr. Gregory followed by a tour of the museum; the visit will end with a prayer of thanksgiving.

Depart from Tesco Streatham at 10am ( by 159 bus)

Arrival at the Convent:11am

Mass Starts at :11.15am

Break for Tea/Coffee: 12noon

Talk :12.30pm

Tour around the convent: 1pm


The nearest Underground station is Marble Arch on the Central line. When you come out of Marble Arch station turn right and continue to the end of the street, cross over the road. The address is 9 Hyde Park Place.) By bus, 159 bus from Tesco Streatham towards Marble Arch.
